Youngstown City Schools has decided to start the 20-21 school year in a remote learning environment. Below are some topics for parents to support this environment at home.
Remote Learning Plan
Youngstown City School District has developed a comprehensive Remote Learning Plan. Please click on "Remote Plan" at the left to see how we are planning on conducting remote learning.
Home Internet Access
The district is providing home internet access for scholars who do not have access for the 20-21 school year. This is basic access to the internet, is limited to educational use only, and it is filtered to comply with the Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA). To learn more, and to request access, click on the "Home Internet Access" link to the left.
During the first week of school, each scholar will be able to come to their school building and pick up a device to use while at home. Scholars in grades K-2 will pick up an iPad, scholars in grades 3-12 will pick up a Chromebook, and scholars at RECMS or YRECHS (9th-10th) will pick up an iPad. These devices will be assigned to the scholars for the entire year. Click on "Devices" at the left to begin this process.
Did you just receive your device and are curious as to how to get started? Click the "Getting Started" link on the left to visit our "Getting Started" page. This will give you instructions for how to get your device turned on, connected to your wireless network, and links to our introductory training sessions.
Please click the "Parent Info" link to the left to view information specifically for our parents and guardians.
If you still need help, click on the "Remote Support" link at the upper left and select the topic that best fits your issue. Someone from our technology team will be in touch as soon as possible.
Thanks for your support during these very challenging times.
