She started her career as a fourth-grade math teacher at Eagle Heights Academy in 2002, where she had a rewarding position for eight years. Her journey as an educator brought her to various places and districts in varying roles. She values education and prides herself on keeping up with her education. She has proven this by returning to Youngstown State University to continue her craft as an educator. In 2014, she earned a Master of Science in Education in Literacy, and in 2022, a Master of Science in Education for Leadership. Carie is employed at Youngstown Community School on the south side of Youngstown, where she teaches Language Arts and Social Studies to fifth-grade students.

“Youngstown is where I learned to live, grow, and care about the world. I am humbled at this opportunity and believe Youngstown will be where other districts turn to for ways to run a public school system. We have a lot of great things going on in Youngstown, and it is time for the world to know it.”
