Civil rights activist Joan Trumpauer Mulholland visited Marc Ellis’ classroom at Kirkmere Elementary to discuss her journey during the civil rights movement of the 1960s and answer scholars’ questions from the book She Stood for Freedom: The Untold Story of a Civil Rights Hero” about Joan’s life. Her son Loki, one of the book's authors and an activist, joined Joan. Thank you to Joan and Loki for visiting YCSD and providing lasting important educational lessons for our scholars.
