THE YCSD RECEIVES MORE THAN $97,000 FROM AREA FOUNDATIONS
The Youngstown City School District is pleased to announce that it has received financial support amounting to $97,374.00 from four local foundations to help expand the work of the Quaglia Institute for Student Aspirations (QISA).   
ABOUT 75 PERCENT OF YCSD THIRD GRADERS PASS OHIO READING TEST
The state of Ohio has informed the Youngstown City Schools that 75 percent of the students in the district have passed the Third Grade Guarantee, the reading portion of the Ohio Achievement Assessment, representing a 47 percent increase over the number of students who passed in the fall 2013. These students will be passed on to the fourth grade.  
THE YOUNGSTOWN AFTERSCHOOL ALLIANCE RECEIVES $15,000 GRANT
The Youngstown Afterschool Alliance (YAA) at the Harding Elementary/Learning Tree and Martin Luther King Elementary has been awarded a $15,000 grant from the City of Youngstown Community Development Agency for the 2014-15 school year. The funds will be utilized to support afterschool programming for these two schools.
