On Saturday, September 17, Youngstown City School District employees came together for the Healthy YOU! Wellness Program kick-off event at Choffin Career and Technical Center. The program was introduced this year for employees to focus on their health in a supportive environment. Those enrolled will participate in four periods featuring a water challenge, walking your way to wellness, the biggest loser challenge, and wellness champions. Every program phase is meant to be fun, engaging, and educational. Employees will track their activities for rewards and a chance to win a top prize.
If staff missed the kick-off event, they would need to speak with a building nurse or the main office to complete a registration form by October 1. Weigh-ins will begin shortly after.
The HealthyYOU Wellness Program is an additional health-related service that staff can access at YCSD. Several years ago, the YOUCare Clinics were introduced at Chaney and East High Schools for every employee and scholar to utilize. These clinics were instrumental in administering vaccinations during the COVID-19 pandemic.
