Exciting things are happening in the Youngstown City School District!
We are thrilled to reveal the renderings for the upcoming upgrades, approved by the Youngstown Board of Education at last eveningās meeting, to the Youngstown High School facility, set to welcome scholars for the Fall 2026 school year. This capital improvement project is not simply a renovation; it is a symbol of our "One Vision. One Youngstown" future, representing unity, progress, and a "future forward" approach for our entire community.
Whatās New?
Updated Branding: Our refreshed logo, which mimics the owl mascot's colors, also features a new tagline, "One Vision. One Youngstown," that expresses our unified spirit.
Upgraded Security: The safety of our scholars and staff remains our top priority. The project features a new "Gatehouse" entryway with a dedicated officer to monitor all facility access, an enclosed lobby, and redesigned sight lines from office spaces to guarantee a secure and friendly environment.
Honoring History: The new exterior will feature a "Defenders" logo and the names of former schools on the structure, honoring our rich district history while we build for the future.
As Superintendent Jeremy Batchelor shared, we want every scholar, family, and community member to feel proud of the state-of-the-art environment we are building.
Construction is slated to begin this summer. Stay tuned for more updates as we move forward together!
