The winter weather certainly made its presence felt this past week. While the snow and ice shifted our usual routines, I am reminded once again of the incredible strength of our Youngstown community.
I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to our dedicated staff, especially our facilities and maintenance teams. They worked in the elements to ensure that our buildings remained safe for our return. To district educators and support staff, thank you for your flexibility. I understand that snow days aren't always a break; they often require adjusting plans and rearranging schedules. Your commitment to our scholars' success is truly appreciated.
To our families, thank you for your patience. I know that school closures create logistical challenges for your schedules and childcare. We do not take these decisions lightly; our primary goal is always the safety of our scholars and staff when navigating unpredictable road conditions. Your cooperation and understanding help us keep our focus where it belongs: on the well-being of our scholars.
As we return to our classrooms, let's carry that spirit of the YCSD community and mutual support with us. Stay warm and stay safe!
