Join Youngstown City Schools as we celebrate the significant contributions, heritage, and culture of Hispanic and Latino Americans in the United States. Hispanic Heritage Month was initially celebrated for one week but was expanded to fully recognize an entire month by former President Reagan in 1988. It begins in the middle of the month because many Central American countries celebrate their independence between September 15 and October 15.

Locally, you can honor Hispanic Heritage all month long and beyond by supporting community events that promote this years theme: Latinos: Driving Prosperity, Power, and Progress in America. Click this link for more details: https://ysu.edu/hispanicheritage
