The Army Educational Outreach Program (AEOP)Junior Solar Sprint NE Ohio student teams in grades 5 through 8 from Akron, Black River, Mapleton, New London, Northwestern, Wellington, and Youngstown school districts raced their custom solar vehicles. Youngstown City Schools sends a huge congratulations to Taft Elementary for coming in 2nd place. Chaney Middle School and Harding Elementary also placed! The Taft team will now have the  opportunity to compete on a national level.

New London Local Schools provided the venue and volunteer administrators, teachers, and students for the regional competition. The goal was for students to develop the fastest, most interesting, and best-crafted vehicle possible. 

AEOP JSS NE Ohio is an official program of the Northern Ohio Rural STEM Collaborative. NORSC is a (501c3) nonprofit organization of rural school districts and partners in northern Ohio who work collaboratively to build a world-class K-16 STEM pipeline that produces innovative and creative STEM employable individuals. AEOP Junior Solar Sprint is sponsored nationally by the Army Educational Outreach Program (AEOP). The Technology Student Association manages Junior Solar Sprint.
