Before spring break, Chaney Middle School hosted a Women in STEAM Careers panel. All presenters were under 25 and worked in law, software engineering, cyber security, and marketing. Both Chaney and East Middle scholars asked thoughtful questions about the challenges, preparation, work ethic, and support needed in these demanding careers. They were incredibly excited to hear about the salary ranges someone could earn, starting anywhere from 60k to 200k a year. Youngstown City Schools sends a special thank you to Jamya Terry, Landry Zinda-Snead, Bethany Lambright, and Elaysia Parks for being candid, inspirational, and committed to helping scholars see themselves achieve success in underrepresented careers.
