How do I enroll my child in preschool?
Your child can be enrolled if they are 3 years old by December 1st or they can begin preschool if they turn 3 years of age after December 1st. Our preschool program enrolls children ages 3 and 4.
You can pick up a preschool enrollment application:
- at the school building
- at the Board of Education located at East High School, 474 Bennington Ave, Youngstown, Ohio Room 054
- or contact the Preschool Office at 330-744-7324 and one will be mailed to you
What is the Preschool curriculum?
The Creative Curriculum has been adopted by the Youngstown City Schools Preschool Program as its' curriculum and evaluation system. It consists of developmentally appropriate activities and approaches which meet the individual needs of children. The curriculum is aligned with the Early Learning and Development Standards adopted by the Ohio State Board of Education.
Step Up To Quality (SUTQ) is a five–star quality rating and improvement system administered by the Ohio Department of Education and the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. SUTQ recognizes and promotes learning and development programs.
The following sites have received a 5 star rating: Martin Luther King, Choffin, Harding,
Paul C. Bunn, McGuffey, Taft, Williamson, Wilson, and Kirkmere.
